About Bois Du Dauphiné
Located in the French Alps since 1987, the Bois Du Dauphiné – Alpes Energie Bois group offers 110,000 cubic meter of sawn timber annually, with a wide range of products geared towards construction (framing, trusses, structural timber, rafters, beams, joists, sheathing, formwork), packaging, and secondary processing products (dry wood, timber for laminated and cross-laminated timber, planing, etc.).
Committed to sourcing its timber locally, the group obtains its wood within a 150 km radius of its processing factory in Le Cheylas, France (38570).
The quality of its products, recognized by its customers, has allowed it to establish itself as a key player in the French, Belgian, Dutch, and Italian markets.
As a pioneer in wood optimization and valorization, the company has also been producing 60,000 tons of wood pellets annually since 2010, distributed primarily in southeastern France, northern Italy, and Switzerland.
A cogeneration plant complements the use of by-products, producing 27 GWh of electricity.
Products & Services
The Bois Du Dauphiné Sawmill offers a range of softwood products (fir, spruce, Douglas fir, bark beetle-infested wood) for construction: structural timber (rafters, beams, joists, planks, etc.), trusses, dry framing timber (18% +/-2%), and formwork.
Complementary products round out this range : packaging timber, bracing, and other structural elements…
Recently equipped with more efficient kilns, the sawmill also offers dry products (12% +/-2%) for secondary processing: strips for laminated or glued laminated timber, and sawn timber for planers (e.g., Douglas fir HA/AA). ISPM 15-treated lumber is also available. Finally, its treatment tanks allow for the production of colorless or yellow Classe 2 treated products through immersion.
The sawmill holds PEFC, Bois de France, and Bois des Alpes certifications.
By-products are recycled by Alpes Energie Bois, another entity within the group, to produce 60,000 tons of wood pellets per year, certified DIN+ and EN+A1, packaged in 15 kg bags, big bags, or in bulk. A cogeneration plant feeds 27 GWh per year into the electrical grid.
