   France:Sustainable management

The trump card of sustainable forest management
Sustainable forest management is a real challenge, involving the reconciliation of the economic use of natural resources and the protection of the environment.
Good forest management principles were introduced as early as 1827 in France, with the adoption of the Forestry Management and Administration Code.
It was, therefore, natural, that France should have initiated the Paneuropean sustainable forest management process.

Durability of natural resources
Sustainable management indicators provide a snapshot of the expansion of France's forests : the volume of standing timber is currently increasing each year by 81,000,OOOm3. Given a harvest of 47,000,000 m3/year, the rate of felling is equal to 58% of the annual biological production level.
Such carefully planned felling preserves the natural capital reserves, and guarantees the continued existence of France's forests and timber resources.

The best guarantee of quality
The effectiveness of French forestry management is aided by the existence of a dynamic and responsible forestry policy, the aim and purpose of which is to reconcile economic needs, whilst respecting the environment.
Sustainable management is your guarantee of efficient production control and the quality of French wood and sawnwood. At the end of the day that is the clincher where customers are concerned.
